Early 19th Century Fede Ring

660U
858 Admirers Rare Find

The fede ring has a long history dating back to antiquity. The major hallmark of this type of ring is the motif of two hands traditionally one female and the other male, clasped together. Known from the original Italian “mani in fede” (hands in faith and trust), this style of ring was popular during the Renaissance and given as a token of betrothal. This 15ct gold ring dates from around 1820. A charming and rare ring.
