Rare Find
A good quality Claddagh ring that was assayed in Dublin in 1896. The Claddagh ring is a traditional Irish ring which represents love, loyalty, and friendship (the hands represent friendship, the heart represents love, and the crown represents loyalty). This type of ring was first produced in the 17th century in the fishing village of Claddagh in County Galway, and was used as a friendship, engagement or wedding ring. Engraved inside is “From Clare 1897”
This ring is a very good example of the style.
