A good looking 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1890. It has been set with three moonstones interspersed with four old mine cut diamonds that give the ring added sparkle. The moonstones have a silvery bluish light that seems to come from within. Moonstone has many associations with the Moon. It has a long history of use as a talisman for fertility, love, protection, and travel. It is also associated with people born in may and also born on a monday “Moonday”. The shank is called a “Carved half hoop” because of the scrollwork decoration on the sides.
