A beautiful 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1880. It consists of two bands of diamonds and rubies. The diamonds are old mine cut stones and are very well matched with a total weight of three quarters of a carat. The rubies are natural unheated stones. In between are four small rose diamonds that are known as diamond points as they serve to highlight the larger stones and give a smoother line to the overall look of the design. The shoulders have interesting scrollwork detail. It would make a wonderful engagement or Ruby wedding anniversary ring
