A beautiful 18ct gold ring that was made at the end of the nineteenth century, circa 1880. It has been set with five well matched mid to deep blue sapphires that are most likely of Burma origin. Above and below each sapphire is a tiny rose diamond point as they are known. The shank is called a “Carved half hoop” because of the scroll work decoration on the sied that adds lovely detail. It would make a wonderful engagement ring.
