A stunning late VictorianJewellery made in the the Victorian era (1839-1901). More 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) More gold ring that was made circa 1880-1900. It has been set with five beautiful and well matched rubies with good saturation that were most likely sourced in BurmaBurma (modern day Myanmar) is one of most celebrated sources of the gemstone, ruby. Coming out of Mogok, known as the 'Valley of Rubies', the gemstones, along with sapphires and spinels, have been sourced there for at least 1,500 years, and are prized for their luminosity. More (Myanmar) On either side are small diamonds pointsA unit of weight for a diamond, being one-hundredth of a metric carat. It is used for weights that are decimal fractions of a carat, and all figures after the second decimal point are, in the diamond and jewellery trade, generally discarded. More, as they are called. These served to give the ring a good line with just a little subtle glitter, and were often used in the Victorian period.
