Rare Find
An unusual 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1880-1900. It is composed of two entwined hearts and has been set with a heart shaped sapphire and ruby surrounded by old mine cut diamonds. The heart shape has been popular since the 17th Century to the present day. The combination of two hearts entwined means “Forever in my heart”. The use of the diamonds emphasises “Eternal love”, and the ruby is for “True love”. In Christianity, a sapphire is seen as the gemstone of purity, wisdom and chastity.
