Rare Find
This is a wonderful ring that was made circa 1880-1900. It has been claw set with a natural Burma sapphire that weighs 2.48 carats and is a stunning Royal blue colour. On either side are three claw set old mine cut diamonds that have a total estimated weight of 1.20 carats. Burma sapphires are much sought after especially the old material such as the stone in this ring. The key difference between Burma and Ceylon sapphires is saturation, with those from Burma displaying much more intense colour in the stone.
It is a lovely style and would make a perfect engagement ring.
This ring is accompanied with a gemmological certificate that states that the sapphire is a natural unheated stone from Burma (Myanmar).
