Silver Ring by Henning Koppel for Georg Jensen

A stylish silver ring that was made in the late 1950s by the firm of Georg Jensen. The designer of this ring was Henning Koppel. As a result of his Jewish background, Koppel had to seek refuge in Sweden during World War II In Stockholm where he resided in 1943-44, he attracted considerable attention for his work as a jewellery designer for Svenskt Tenn. Back in Denmark in 1945, he obtained a contract with Georg Jensen. a collaboration that lasted throughout the rest of his life. His work was rewarded with a gold medals on three Milan Triennials in 1951, 1954 and 1957. His designs for Georg Jensen included both hollowware, jewellery and flatware patterns. This ring is a good example of his work and is as stylish today as when it was made in the 1950s.
