Find Out MoreAn unusual silver and pale yellow and black enamel bracelet that is typical of the late Art Deco period in its geometric design and bold use of contrasting colours. It was made by Aksel Holmsen. Each section has eight sections. The translucent yellow enamel shows the sunburst design beneath. Aksel Holmsen was trained by and worked for David Andersen from 1889 to 1904. He then established his own silver and enamel workshop in Oslo. The company later moved to Sandefjord, a small town in southern part of Norway. The workshop was a major supplier of enamel and silver goods until it was closed in 1971. The bracelet is stamped with one of Aksel’s marks “Norne” and was made in the 1930-1940 period.
