Rare Find
A really special and unusual 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1780-1800. It has been set with the most beautiful natural heart shaped pigeon blood ruby with an oval shaped rose diamond on either side. The shank is typical of the period with a cup shaped back with engraved swirl design. On either side of the shoulders is a shell. Above the heart is a flame to signify “burning with passion”. It could also be interpreted as the sacred heart depicted with a flame representing devotional or religious love. A wonderful and special ring.
