A very pretty 18ct. gold ring that was made circa 1880-1900. It has been. rub over set in gold with a rectangular cushion cut peridot that has an approximate weight of 1.80 carats. It is surrounded by rose diamonds in cut down silver settings. The. shoulders are a pretty scroll design.
Peridot is named after the French word “peritot”, meaning gold, because the mineral can vary towards this colour. It is also the birthstone for the month of August and is the stone given to celebrate the 16th year of marriage.
