The sapphire is a lovely cornflower blue colour. This style of ring has always been called a gypsy ring because of the lucky star settings around the stones. It was made by the well known firm Deakin & Francis. They have been in existence for over 230 years and are England’s oldest manufacturing jewellers based in Birmingham in the same factory where they began manufacturing jewellery in the Industrial Revolution.
