A beautiful heavy gage 14ct58.5% pure gold (or 585 parts pure gold to 415 parts other metals) More gold open coiled snake ring that was made circa 1910 in Germany. Snake designs have featured in ancient designs in jewellery but were really popular from the early 1800s onwards. The snake motif represented “Eternal love and wisdom”, so pieces such as this ring would have been a gift from an admirer.
