A smart 14ct58.5% pure gold (or 585 parts pure gold to 415 parts other metals) More white goldWhite gold is an alloy of gold and at least one other white metal - most often nickel or palladium (both of which act as a bleaching agent to reduce the natural yellow colour of the gold). More ring that was either made in Germany or Austria circa 1920. It is set with five well matched white diamonds with millgrain decoration in between which was common practice with antiqueFrom the Latin 'antiquus', meaning 'old and long in existence', it is generally used to refer to collectible artifacts of at least 100 years of age.
More jewellery and adds further detail to the ring. The literal translation for “millgrain”, a french word, is “a thousand grains”. It is in the form of tiny bead shapes that are raised using a knurling tool on the gold. It would make a pretty engagement ring.
