Victorian Forget Me Not Shield Shaped Locket
An unusual shield shaped locket that opens to reveal two compartments for photographs. One side has been enamelled in Royal blue A pigmented glass-like material used in powdered form and fused onto the metal surface of a piece of jewellery. with the words “Forget me not”. It was made circa 1880. The Victorians were very sentimental and this locket is a typical example of this style.
