Victorian 18ct Gold, Two Stone Ruby & Diamond Ring

Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a most unusual 18ct gold ring that was assayed in Birmingham in 1876. It has been claw set with two well matched rubies with an old mine cut diamond in between with four small diamonds around it that remind us of a kiss.  The rubies represent love so it was most likely an engagement ring.

It is not a design that we have seen before so perhaps it was a special commission.
