Victorian 18ct Gold Snake Bracelet set with Turquoise, Diamonds & Cabochon Rubies

822X
226 Admirers

This 18ct gold bracelet closely matches the snake necklace. It is 18ct gold and was made circa 1860. His head has been set with a large turquoise and old mine cut diamonds with cabochon ruby eyes.  Further small diamonds and turquoise follow the head down to the articulated body that has been set with a continuous line of turquoise. There is also fine engraving on the sides of his head.

The long tongue clasp slides in to his mouth so when worn it appears that he is eating his tail. The ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a snake eating its own tail, representing the cycle of death and rebirth.

The word “ouroboros” comes from a Greek word meaning “tail-devourer”. The symbol has been used in many cultures.

This bracelet looks amazing when worn.
