Victorian 15ct Gold, Pave Set Turquoise & Diamond Drop Earrings

723S-1

Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty pair of 15ct gold earrings that were made circa 1880. They are bombe shape and have each been set with a cluster of turquoise with a small diamond in the centre within a silver star shaped setting. Above each cluster are two turquoise split beads with trace links in between. The wires are 15ct gold. Turquoise was extremely popular in the Victorian period and sent such a sweet message due to it’s colour “Forget me not” after the flower of the same name. The diamond within the star shaped setting meant “You are the eternal star in my life”.
