			This is unusual because it is a small one and is well made. All the hinged pieces open separately to form a cross. The segments are engraved inside with various Masonic symbols. It is 9ct37.5% pure gold (or 375 parts pure gold and 625 parts other metals) More gold with silverA metallic element which is malleable and ductile, and white in colour, making it ideal for use in jewellery. It is usually mixed with copper to improve its hardness.
 More gilt inside and was made circa 1910-20.

Masonic balls are highly collectible a quite difficult to come by. I particularly like this one for it’s size and beautiful workmanship.
