Albert T Scharning was a jewellery designer working in Oslo, Norway. He died in the 1950s. His pieces are well designed and this necklace is a good example of his work. It is silver with five slightly curved rectangular red enamel sections. Inside each section are six deeper squares so that the enamel looks two tone. It is typical of the 1930-1940 fashion that also reflects in textiles of that period. It looks wonderful when worn.
