A beautiful 15ct62.5% pure gold (or 625 parts pure gold and 375 parts other metals). Popular during the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras but was discontinued in the mid-1930s. More gold ring that was made circa 1820. It has a charming message on the reverse that says “A small tribute of regard from J.H.C.R”. The top is a lovely detailed design and has been clawA precious metal prong used to hold a gemstone in place. More set with three foil backedA thin metal foil placed behind a gemstone within a closed-back setting to improve its optical performance. Metallic foil improves the reflectivity of certain gemstones, whilst coloured foils act as colouring agents when placed behind colourless materials, such as paste and rock crystal. These stones were typically set in silver closed backs to shield the fo... More crysolites, two pear shaped and an oval shaped chrysolite in the centre. Chrysolite is a powerful stone of protection and was prized by the ancient Egyptians as it was thought to summon the strength of the sun and drive away darkness. The Greeks called it the Golden stone which is the original meaning of the word. In Christianity it symbolises life death and rebirth.
