This brooch was made in the Art NouveauA movement within the arts, particularly jewellery, evolving out of a response to mass production and the industrial revolution (1890-1915). Jewellery of this period was heavily influenced by nature and femininity, with its sweeping lines and organic motifs. More period, circa 1905. The enamelA pigmented glass-like material used in powdered form and fused onto the metal surface of a piece of jewellery. More has been built up in layers, to create a translucent and three dimensional effect. It is signed by the artist on the reverse.
