Georgian 9ct Gold Large Rectangular Citrine Brooch

885Y
133 Admirers Rare Find

An amazing large brooch that was made circa 1820. It has been cut down claw set with a large rectangular faceted  citrine. In the Georgian era citrines were celebrated stones and this brooch is no exception. A nickname for the stone was “The Merchants stone” which came from the belief that the stone attracted wealth and good fortune.

It is a deep stone and has a wonderful curved pin on the reverse.
