Georgian 18ct Gold & Black Enamel Mourning Ring

441U
125 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A good quality mourning ring that has a lock of hair beneath a glazed compartment with a black enamel surround. On the reverse is engraved  “H.J died jan 11 1823”. The trifurcated shoulders have a pretty repousse flower motif that is repeated around the top. This design is typical of the period. A good example of a mourning ring from the late Georgian period
