There are many snake rings over the years that we have been offered but we only choose the ones that are special and unusual. This 18ct gold ring is just perfect with two well modelled snakes with graduated claw set rose cut diamonds set in to each of their heads and sweet rose diamond set eyes. Rose diamonds are so special because they catch the light in a different way to modern brilliant cut diamonds.
Snake rings were popular in the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian eras and signify the union of two people in eternal love.
This ring was made circa 1880 and was imported in to France.
