Edwardian Large 15ct Gold Swallows Brooch

Sold

443F

A beautiful large 15ct gold brooch containing five swallows from large to small along the main bar. In Classical Chinese paintings the swallow represented happiness and the arrival of Spring, and was often depicted as part of the flowering peach branch. The bird is daring, risk-seeking and a symbol of change for good in the future.
