Edwardian 9ct Gold & Opal Doublet Butterfly Brooch

5N
Written by Olly Gerrish

A striking 9ct gold brooch that was made circa 1910-1920 of a butterfly.  It has fine wedges of opal set over a solid piece of chalcedony. This enhances the colours which are composed of vivid blues, greens and reds. It is a highly decorative piece of jewellery and would enhance any lapel or dress.
