A stunning 18ct gold heart shaped pendant set with a lovely opal that displays red and blue flashes. Opal is the birthstone for the month of October. It is also the stone given to celebrate the 14th year of marriage. The name opal is derived from the Sanskrit upala, meaning precious stone, and later the Greek derivative Opallios, meaning to see a change of colour. It has been especially chosen as around it are alternate rubies and diamonds that compliment the opal so well. The loop has also been set with rubies and a diamond. It was made circa 1910 and is a fantastic piece of jewellery from the Edwardian period.
