A wonderful 18ct gold double snake ring that was made circa 1900-1910 in either Germany or Austria. The detail is fantastic with very white old mine cut diamonds set in to the snake’s heads and four little faceted ruby eyes. The snake motif in antique jewellery represented “Eternal love and wisdom”, so pieces such as this ring would have been a gift from an admirer.
The loveliest snake ring that I have seen in a long while!
