An unusual 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) More gold ring that was made circa 1900-1910. It has been set with an oval cabochonA polished, not faceted, dome shaped stone - either round or oval with a flat polished base, primarily used as a cut for phenomenal stones such as cat's eyes and stars.
More cat’s eye chrysoberylA hard stone that ranges in colour from yellow, to brown, to green. Alexandrite and Cat’s Eye are both notable types of Chrysoberyl. More which has a definite white and green edged line across the middle. NaturalA natural stone is called such because it has not been subjected to any treatments. More cat’s eye chrysoberyl is an expensive stone and is a stone of good fortune. It is said to bring serenity and happiness, along with optimism and generosity, creativity and kindness. It is also a stone of protection against the evil eye! Around it are fifteen well matched transition cutDirect descendants of the Old European Cut, this progressive cuts saw an evolution toward a larger table, a lower crown, and a smaller culet than previous cuts. However, unlike later brilliants, the girdles of these stones remained unfaceted. Considered a precursor to both the Modern Round Brilliant and the Ideal cuts. More diamonds. It sits low on the finger so it is a practical ring to wear.
Cats-eye chrysoberyl rings are so hard to find these days and this one is a really lovely ring.
