Victorian 15ct Gold Drop Earrings with Hearts set with Turquoise

798Y
Written by Olly Gerrish

an unusual pair of 15ct gold earrings that were made circa 1880. Each one has a heart that has been pave set with turquoise. On the reverse is a glazed locket. Above each one are three gold leaves that frame the hearts beautifully. Turquoise was often used in Victorian jewellery as it represented love and sent the message to “Forget me not” after the flower of the same name.
