An unusual 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1830-1840. It is composed of a cluster of old mine cut diamonds with a cushion cut diamond in the centre set in silver settings. These stones are deep and were all hand cut by cleaving the diamonds, unlike modern brilliant cut stones. This is the difference between antique diamond rings and modern rings as the diamonds refract the light in a totally different way. The lovely thing about this early ring is that on each shoulder is an old mine cut diamond within a heart shaped setting. What a charming ring to give as an engagement ring.
