This is a stunning French platinumDerives from the Spanish word 'platina' meaning 'little silver'. More ring that was made in the early 1920s. It is typical of the Art DecoA movement within the arts between the two Great Wars (1920-1935) across Europe and the US, characterized by its clean, geometric designs. The aesthetic was intended to celebrate an age of progress and the modernity of the machine. More period with it’s geometric shape. It has been set with three rectangular cut emeralds across the bandA type of ring which is an equal width all the way round. They are traditionally used for wedding rings.
More. Around them are sixteen bright white diamonds. It has fine millgrain detail around the settings. This is when the edges of the metal have been worked with a knurling tool to produce tiny beads, hence the French name “Millgrain” meaning a thousand beads. It sits low on the finger so it is a practical and beautiful ring to wear. It would make a marvellous engagement ring.
