A beautiful platinum ring that was made in the early 1920s. It has been set with an oval velvet blue colour sapphire. It is surrounded by twelve diamonds within canted settings with millgrain work around them. This is when the edges of the metal have been worked with a knurling tool to produce tiny beads, hence the French name “Millgrain” meaning a thousand beads. The shoulders have been set with a diamond on either side. This ring would make a stunning engagement ring as it sits low on the finger so it is a good practical ring to wear.
