This is a fantastic Art DecoA movement within the arts between the two Great Wars (1920-1935) across Europe and the US, characterized by its clean, geometric designs. The aesthetic was intended to celebrate an age of progress and the modernity of the machine. More ring that was made in the 1920s. It is typical of the period with the geometric design. The Madeira citrineCitrine (from the French for ‘lemon’) is a rare, yellow type of quartz, a semi-precious stone that ranges in colour from pale yellow to orange to golden brown. The best quality citrine is found in Brazil. More is a wonderful colour and has been cut to best show off it’s colour with a retangular cut tableThe large facet on the crown of a faceted gemstone. More and facetedA faceted stone has small, flat-cut surfaces that make a sparkling effect on transparent stones. Facets act as both mirrors and windows. Reflecting light and channelling light into a stone where it refracts and re-emerges. More to the reverse. Madeira citrine is one of the most sought-after varieties of citrine. This gemstone is named after the fortified wine made in the Madeira Islands, just off the coast of Portugal. On either side small diamonds are set in a step cutA step cut is a style of cutting a gemstone characterised by straight sides with parallel facets. Most often, step cut stones are square or rectangular. More design within millgrain settings. It is a fantastic and unusual ring.
