A very stylish Art DecoA movement within the arts between the two Great Wars (1920-1935) across Europe and the US, characterized by its clean, geometric designs. The aesthetic was intended to celebrate an age of progress and the modernity of the machine. More 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) More white goldWhite gold is an alloy of gold and at least one other white metal - most often nickel or palladium (both of which act as a bleaching agent to reduce the natural yellow colour of the gold). More ring that was made in the 1920s. It has been set with an oval cut Siberian amethystAmethyst is the purple variety of macrocrystalline quartz. From the Greek amethystos meaning 'a remedy against drunkedness', it was believed to prevent intoxication and ensure the wearer retains a clear head and quick wit. It was once considered as valuable as ruby, sapphire and emerald. More. Siberian amethysts are found in the Ural Mountains in Russia. Amethysts have been mined in this area since at least the 18th century and probably earlier. On either side is a typical Art Deco geometric design set with good white graded diamonds. It is a wonderful striking ring and would be perfect as a dress or an engagement ring.
