A lovely Art Deco 18ct gold ring with a platinum top.It is set with four well matched bright white diamonds with French cut sapphires around them. The platinum has a millgrain decoration around the stones. The meaning of “Millgrain” is a “thousand beads” from the French word. It is the small bumps that you see above on the side of the diamonds and sapphires. The millgrain can be done in two ways. Either it can be hand beaded by a diamond setter or hand engraver, or it can be put on by a millgrain machine. This is an added detail that makes the ring special. It sits low on the finger and would be ideal as an engagement ring.
