A good pair of 18ct gold naval flag cufflinks that were made by the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company Ltd. The company was established in 1880 in Regent Street, a fashionable part of London, and made many decorative pieces.
In 1914 their advertisement read:
"Jewellers, silversmiths, diamond merchants, watch and clock makers. Specialities: diamond and gem jewellery, presentation plate, antique silver, military mess plate and trophies, watches, clocks, chronometers, dressing bags, etc" These cufflinks were probably a private commission as the flags letters are LFM, possibly a monogram, and were made circa 1900-1920.}
