Rare Find
An impressive sapphire and diamond cluster ring that was assayed in London in 1974. The natural unheated claw set sapphire has an approximate weight of three carats and is surrounded twelve brilliant cut diamonds that have an approximate weight of 1.20 carats. The sapphire is a colour change stone which means that it changes from blue in daylight to bluish-purple in incandescent light. A blue sapphire is coloured by iron and titanium. The violet colours in this sapphire is because there are traces of vanadium.
This ring is accompanied with a gemmological certificate that states that the sapphire is a natural unheated stone.
It would make a fantastic engagement or dress ring.
