An unusual 18ct gold mourning ring that was made in 1836 in London. It is composed of an oval plaque with black enamel on which has been placed a diamond set pansy. The motif of the pansy is a pun on the french words ‘pense à moi’ (think of me). Engraved on the reverse is “1837 Aed .77 Eliz Wa ?”
