En Tremblant

A section of a piece of jewellery – often a brooch – mounted on a tiny spring to allow it to tremble when worn. This technique was favoured during the 18th and 19th centuries when the lighting of the time – candlelight – best showed off the scintillation of the diamonds set on the jewellery.
