The finely enamelled miniature of a seated lady in a glade with her cat is most likely French and has a gold surround with zig zag detail. The outer part consists of black and white enamelled bows and flowers set with flat cut garnets, emeralds and naturalA natural stone is called such because it has not been subjected to any treatments. More split pearls. On the reverse is a mother of pearlThe iridescent inner layer of certain molluscs such as oysters or abalones which is used as a decorative inlay. More plaque and a loop which may have had another drop on it.
It is a highly decorative piece.
