Early 20th Century French Platinum Large Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Ring

Written by Olly Gerrish

This is an impressive ring that was made in France circa 1920-1930. It has been rub over set with a pretty cornflower blue oval cut sapphire that weighs over two and a half carats. Around it are ten rub over set brilliant cut diamonds that have an approximate total weight of two carats. There is milgrain detail throughout. It sits low on the finger so although it is a big look it looks neat and it is practical to wear on an every day basis. It would make an amazing engagement or dress ring.

This ring is accompanied by a gemmological certificate stating the sapphire is an unheated stone from Sri Lanka (Ceylon).
