Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a stunning 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1970. It has been claw set with a large fancy coloured diamond that is a champagne or cognac colour and has an approximate weight of 1.19 carats. Around it are ten claw set brilliant cut diamonds.
The Argyle Mine in Western Australia produces the majority of the world’s brown diamonds. so this stone is likely from there.

Today brown diamonds, namely cognac and champagne diamonds are popular stones for engagement rings.
