This ring was made circa 1910. The ring is unsigned but was made by William Thomas Blackband who was educated at the Victoria Street school of jewellery in Birmingham. He then returned to teach there and retired in 1946. He worked closely with Arthur Gaskin who taught at the Birmingham school of art and was a member of the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft. There is a similar ring by Blackband in the Birmingham museum.
