Rare Find
A rare pair of earrings that were made circa 1820. They are composed of long lobes carved in grey chalcedony. Around and above each lobe are wrapped branches of oak leaves and acorns in three colours of gold. The acorns have been set with turquoise. Above are round half chalcedony beads surrounded by further oak leaves and turquoise. The oak branch is a symbol of strength and independence and is a quintessentially English motif.
These earrings are in amazing condition.
