Georgian Silver & Gold Paste Rivière

178Y
226 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A beautiful Georgian Rivière necklace that was made circa 1820. The term “Rivière” literally means river in French and is an appropriate word for this style of necklace as it literally means a flowing line of gemstones. In this case it is a continuous line of cut down set foil backed paste with a pierced black spot at the back of each paste to imitate the culet in a diamond.  It is silver with 9ct gold on the reverse and a hidden gold clasp.

An elegant and classic look when worn.
