These are the most amazing GeorgianJewellery made in the Georgian era (1714-1830). More earrings as they feature not just one pansy but two in each earring with leaves in between. The pansies literally mean “pense à moi” (think of me), which is a pun on the word “Pansy”. The Georgians loved hidden meanings and innuendos in their jewellery so these would have been a gift of love. The garnets have been pinched collet set in 15ct62.5% pure gold (or 625 parts pure gold and 375 parts other metals). Popular during the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras but was discontinued in the mid-1930s. More gold.
They look fantastic and articulate beautifully when worn.
