French Early 20th Century Platinum Dormeuse Earrings set with Diamonds

428Y
100 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty and very useful pair of platinum and diamond earrings, made circa 1910 in France, suitable for both day and evening wear. They are known as “dormeuse” earrings, French for  “sleeper”, meaning that you can sleep with them on. The larger claw set diamonds are 0.45 carats each within pie crust settings. They are good bright white early brilliant cut stones. Above each diamond are two smaller diamonds, one within a claw set pie crust setting and the other a rub over setting.

They have secure hinge back fittings.
